WITHER STORM MOD[]

The Wither Storm is a powerful creature, originating from Minecraft: Story Mode, and is the main antagonist of the mod. It's able to continuously grow and get stronger by sucking and absorbing blocks, items, and mobs. The growth of the Wither Storm is all categorized into stages with each stage getting more powerful. The speed of its evolution depends on witch version you use. For example: the FPS version takes 15-30 minutes to get to Phase 4 IV, while the normal one takes 30-60!

Gameplay[]

To spawn the Wither Storm, place the missing wither skull on the top of the Wither build structure. (To spawn in creative, use 3 soul sand with a command block in the middle)

Features:

It can track the player wherever they are in the world, even in other dimensions(via following their portal instead) It loads chunks without any player nearby. In Phase IV and up, it will render from up to 10k blocks away from your player's position. It can get distracted randomly or with fireworks and stop chasing you for a moment. The further you are from the Wither Storm there are going to be lower probabilities of it getting distracted. It can infect you with Wither Sickness if you get pulled into a tractor beam and escape. (It can actually infect you or mobs anywhere you are randomly it’s just the beams make it more likely). In Phase V and up, the sky darkens when the Wither Storm reaches your position. It will make the night sky glow if in Phase V or below. During any phase, the Wither Storm's theme from MC:SM plays when it's nearby (it’s cool). The Calm Before the Storm[]

Ground Zero

This phase occurs when the Wither Storm is generating, it takes 50 seconds (unless you change the invulnerability time in the config) for it to finish its spawn cooldown. In that time, you should start running if you don’t have time to hide. After you gained some distance, start gearing up. It's recommended to find a transport method such as a boat or a horse and keep running!

(Smol tip: gear up and get some food before spawning the Wither Storm)

Time to run!

Similarly to the Wither, you can’t damage the Wither Storm while it's generating.

Wither Phase 0

Wither Storm with Command Block generating

The Storm Unleashed[] Phase 0[]

In this phase, the Wither Storm looks like a Wither but with a command block in its rib cage. It boasts 400 health points and 10 armor points. It can attack you by shooting wither skulls that deal 8 ranged damage and apply Wither. During this phase, the Wither Storm can only absorb single blocks and items. It shoots normal wither skulls and flaming wither skulls which causes a mild destruction to a flaming one! However, this phase does not last very long and changes quickly. The wither storm might shoot flaming wither skulls in a random interval, so it may do it when attacking an entity or trying to enter to a building to consume the building.

Each evolution up to Phase III will increase its armor points by 2, and will consume larger amounts of terrain.

Phase I (“Hunchback”)[] 2023-09-08 17

Hunchback (Phase I) Phase of the Wither Storm

This phase is exactly like Phase 0 mechanically. The Wither Storm now has a small black mass forming on its back, which will grow in size depending on how much it consumes. It also shoots flaming wither skull and normal wither skulls and does so more often than the previous phase.

Phase II[]

Phase II is exactly like Phase I, but it now has a tractor beam

Like Phase I, its command block is still exposed, therefore making it vulnerable to splash potions. It also has bits of bright purple flesh exposed. Those are its weak points (hitting those spots deal more damage). Now, there's a tractor beam, and a player can get eaten. It also can shoot flaming wither skulls even more often.

Phase III[] 2023-09-08 17 (2)

Phase III with 3 tentacles

Phase III is similar to Phase II, except the command block is no longer exposed and it has a tractor beam, rendering it invulnerable to potions. At this stage, more blocks will get consumed and when it gets close to Phase IV, some mass forms which is almost unnoticeable. However, it will consume hundreds of blocks like a black hole.

Phase 4 (“Destroyer”)[]

The real storm starts at Phase IV, where the storm rises hundreds of blocks into the air. It boasts 3 tractor beam heads, and, not only does it look a lot more menacing, but it has much stronger stats. It has 1024 health points, 18 armour points, and deals 10 ranged damage, which still applies Wither, and also creates bigger explosions upon impact.

The tractor beams can suck up large chunks of the terrain, including trees, boulders, and entire village houses. The head will suck up mobs, and will eat the mob when it's in range.

The Wither Storm can also suck up players. Shoot projectiles at the head that's beaming you up to make it release you. Or, if you're close enough, hit it with a high-damage weapon. This will give you the "Brushing Shoulders With Death" advancement. Mobs, including players, will begin to show signs of Wither Sickness.

If the player is not near the Wither Storm when it evolves to Phase IV, it will emit a loud growling sound upon reaching the phase to alert the player of its evolution. If it enters phase IV in a building, it will destroy everything inside the building pretty similar in Minecraft: Story Mode.

Late Phase 4 (Sub Phase, “Afterdestroyer”)[] Sub-Phase 4

Late Phase IV of the Wither Storm

In this phase, tentacles grow to the bottom. The storm still hasn't shed its old tentacles from phase IV. It picks up more blocks and it's tentacles move faster. It won't spawn anything during this stage, but it can be damaged with TNT. It may pick up more blocks. It is also Simply called the Pre-Big brain or Afterdestroyer.

(More information available when more images release.)

Phase 5[]

Phase V is pretty much like Phase IV only, but the brain/body grows slightly bigger and the tentacles move to the bottom. Also, the sky darkens a bit.

Sub Phase 5[]

In this Phase, nothing much happens but the brain grows larger and more tentacles grow. The sky darkens more than ever before and now eats more blocks and mobs. This phase was an originally a bug in Minecraft: Story Mode but was later added to this mod for a smoother progression.

The Half of Phase V (Sub Phase)

Late Phase 5 (Sub Phase, “Big Brain/Devourer”)[] 5

End of Phase V (Sub Phase)

In this phase, the storm is at is Devourer Phase, the Wither Storm will grow much larger, and several more debris rings will form. This phase is not much different from Phase V, excluding the fact that it will be able to spawn a Withered Symbiont in this phase. You need to stay close to the Wither Storm and wait there until the Withered Symbiont Spawns. If you are far away from the Wither Storm when it reaches this phase, it will come to you at a high speed and when it reaches you it will spawn the Withered Symbiont. If you made pets like cats or dogs/wolfs, there are chances that when you fight the Symbiont, your pets might get sucked in and get eaten.

“Beating” the Wither Storm[]

Despite everything so far, this beast does have its kryptonite.

The first step is killing the Withered Symbiont, which spawns late phase 5. After you kill the Symbiont, you will get the Command Block Book to craft the Formidi Bomb. Be careful, as when you craft it a timer for 60 seconds will start until detonation. Place it near the Wither Storm, light it with flint & steel, and run as fast as you can because the blast radius is very large. The Formidi Bomb will be picked up by the Wither Storm. You will hear a very loud sound and some ear ringing.

It’s dead now… right?[] 2023-09-08 16

It’s dead now… right?

Go to the center of the Wither Storm, and hit the command block. If your tamed animals like wolf/dogs or cats get eaten, then it will respawn back probably because it died from being chomped but was programmed to respawn, but it has wither sickness. Also, most of the entities that got eaten are now mutated.

Phase 6 (“Split Phase”)[]

When you try to break the Command Block, the Wither Storm revives itself by using its ribs.

There is now one main body Wither Storm, and 2 segmented Wither Storms, with one head on each body and their own tentacles. Holes are formed on the side of the main body where the smaller segmented Wither Storms (left and right) used to be. The sky darkens more than it did in Late Phase V.

Phase 6 Late Phase 6 (Sub Phase)[]

This phase comes after phase VI. Nothing much changes, but the brain/body grows to the size it was when it was in the late stage 5. Additionally, the wounds from the Formidi Bomb have healed, and each segment of the storm has 3 heads each, leading to 9 heads to fight.

Phase VII (“Final Devourer/World Eater”)[] 2023-09-08 17 (3)

The Wither Storm in its full power

In this phase, the Wither Storm get enormous. The holes on the side of the storm are patched up, the top grows astronomically bigger. There are also 3 heads on each body/segment, for a total of nine heads. The sky darkens further.

Late Phase 7 (Sub Phase)[] 2023-09-08 17 (4)

The hole in the brain

This is the final evolution stage, it may take an hour or more to get to this phase. Wait for 6 minutes (default time for the buildup of hole), and a massive hole will form on the Wither Storm's body/brain. Use a crossbow and an ender pearl (ender pearl in offhand), and shoot it in the hole to enter The Bowels.

The Bowels[] 2023-02-14 17 (7)

Final fight arena

2023-02-14 17 (6)

The Bowels

The Bowels is a dark place, infested with mushrooms, tainted blocks, and everything the Wither Storm ate. Once you go to the middle of the Bowels, you will enter an "arena", where the Final Fight takes place. The Command Block sits on top of a pedestal and appears dormant. Use your Command Block Tool to break the Command Block. A boss bar will appear, and the boss music will start. The pedestal will rise, and Sickened Mobs will spawn. Kill them all and deal the next hit. A Withered Symbiont will spawn, which must be killed beforee the next hit on the Command Block. After the pedestal rises, the heads will activate and the tentacles curl around the Command Block. Injure both heads to uncurl the tentacles. When you deal the final hit, everything will turn white, and you will be teleported outside to see the beast fade away.

It’s gone forever… right?[]

Upon exiting the bowels, the Wither Storm will explode and drop its bowel contents. It will drop a Withered Nether Star and a lot of XP.

How to resurrect the Wither Storm[]

The Wither Storm can be resurrected with the help of a new beacon called the Withered Beacon (see Withered Nether Star). To resurrect the destroyer of your world, you only require the beacon (and a lack of mercy for the overworld). Put 3 wither skeleton skulls inside the Withered Beacon. (Does not require Withered Support Beacons).

The Wither Storm immediately spawns and becomes Phase IV, and it’s back to the beginning again…

You can also resurrect other sickened mobs or craft sickened blocks with this beacon (for latest versions, use JEI to lookup all recipes)

Congratulations![]
